Website Reflection

My website contains projects I’ve done over the past four years to help myself get a job somewhere. I have a little bit of everything in there to appease an employer. I put up to five different movies I’ve done script coverage for. This is a typical entry level position in most production studios. Mostly just scanning the screenplay and deciding whether a project should be gone through with or not. Companies get hundreds upon hundreds every week, they usually need someone to comb through it and you can really be the big decider on some enormous projects that could be put in production.            I also put on there five different examples of some shorts, sketches, and series I’ve done in the past couple years. I put on the website my huge short film “Drac-U-Haul” which I had directed, written, edited, and produced all in the span of about three and a half months. This was a huge passion project ...

Quranscreen Reflection

I thoroughly enjoy doing video projects so this was a lot of fun for me to do. This isn’t the type of video I typically make. I’m usually into making a short film or some sort of sketch, so that was the only struggle; going outside of my comfort zone and making something I typically wouldn’t in the first place. I had a lot of fun editing to the rhythm of the song I chose. I ended up being pretty proud of the final product I ended up with. There was always more I could have done, but some COVID and personal restrictions stopped me from going really above and beyond. I had to think outside the box of what was limited to me to create something for the project. Shooting was pretty difficult because I typically at least have someone else there with me when I’m making a project so it was a little different. I only had to be in it a limited amount of time anyway so that kind of struggle faded away and just gave me more freedom than anything.    ...

Twitter Changing Media Distribution Faster Than Ever

Image
Twitter is able to be used beyond just putting out your own thoughts. Journalists and media companies are able to put out new information almost constantly. This comes with a price thought. The faster you're able to put something out, the faster someone else wants to be. This can be good for media companies, but now for the general public. This can lead to an array of misinformation quickly. Users can just consume the articles or tweets being posted and take that as fact right then and there. It could come out a few minutes or even days later that what was posted was false information, but the damage is likely done. Not everyone will be able to get the message something they consumed was untrue.      Twitter hasn't always been the villain. Twitter has done plenty of good like journalists being able to spread information back to different countries about the uprising in Egypt. We would have never known about anything quite like that if it wasn't ...

Recently bored because nothing is really going on? Bringing out old video game consoles might be an excellent way to pass the time! One thing might be an issue though; it’s probably been years since you’ve touched any of the controllers and it’s likely you’ve left batteries inside. Over time, the batteries start to corrode and ruin the controllers. Maybe you’re not even looking to play the games, maybe you’re looking to sell the console and the controllers. This may stop someone from purchasing from you. The controllers will likely work just fine, but the battery acid is a big problem and can be dangerous to you. Here is an easy quick fix to remove that battery acid and start enjoying your games again.  The first step would be locating old video game controllers that haven't been in use for a while.  The second step would be put on some gloves to protect yourself from the battery acid since you’re about to open the back. It is recommended you do this over some sort of w...

Removing Battery Acid from Old Controllers Outline

Image
The first step would be locating old video game controllers that haven't been in use for a while. This would have a photo of an old Nintendo Wii remote, gloves, vinegar or lemon juice, waste bin, and some Q-tips. The photo would have them all lined up together. The second step would be opening the back of the remote where the batteries are located. The hands opening would have gloves on to protect hands from the acid. The third step would be removing the acidic batteries and placing them in the garbage. This would contain a photo of the gloved hands placing them in the trash. If they are rechargeable batteries they should be recycled rather than being thrown away. Another photo dumping the acid residue in the garbage just by shaking the remote over the garbage. The fourth step would be placing the remote down and taking a Q-tip and dipping it in the persons choice of either vinegar or lemon juice. The photo would have the remote laying down with the battery side up and the Q-tip be...

A Times Square of Your Peers and Misinformation

Social media has progressed well beyond any other medium so quickly. Social media can be used by anyone with internet access which in today’s world is fairly common now. Now, you may not even need internet access if you have a smart device. You are able to access social media just by using your cell phone carrier service. It isn't limited to the home now, it can be anywhere.     Social media itself can only be as intrusive as you want it to be. You have very much control over what you put online and how you interact with others. You can make your accounts as public or private as you desire. What you put out there isn't just magically appearing; it's all under your control. In the late 2000's and early 2010's, social media wasn't egging you on to more information about you as much as it is now. Social media is a business now, they need to sell advertisement space and has become no different than being in the center of Times Square talking to all you...
