Website Reflection

My website contains projects I’ve done over the past four years to help myself get a job

somewhere. I have a little bit of everything in there to appease an employer. I put up to five

different movies I’ve done script coverage for. This is a typical entry level position in most

production studios. Mostly just scanning the screenplay and deciding whether a project should

be gone through with or not. Companies get hundreds upon hundreds every week, they usually

need someone to comb through it and you can really be the big decider on some enormous

projects that could be put in production.

I also put on there five different examples of some shorts, sketches, and series I’ve done in the past couple years. I put on the website my huge short film “Drac-U-Haul” which I had directed, written, edited, and produced all in the span of about three and a half months. This was a huge passion project and short film that ended up taking shape. This shows I am able to tackle such huge projects and work within restrictions. I even had a full soundtrack done along with it. I also have on there some sketches I had done like “Vickee’s Playhouse” and “A Much Moore Complex Christmas” to show I usually end up doing comedy based sketches and something I try to strengthen all the time. On top of that, a series I made “Youtube Archaeologist” which is something I want to try to do more of and eventually try to get sold as some sort of proof of concept for a show since there will always be endless unexplained videos on the internet. Finally, I added on there from a club on campus I’ve been a member of and I added “Gotta Blast”. This is a short I wrote for the club “Studio 716” which I wasn’t really involved in outside of being the writer and the 2nd assistant director. I didn’t have any control outside of my own written word so it was cool to see how someone else may interpret my writing.

These usually get promoted on my various social media platforms like Instagram or Twitter where I primarily put things out and the off chance Facebook. I usually use them just to get the word out there and you never know who will end up seeing them. This website streamlines only a fraction of my work and is easier for an employer to digest and take a look at some of the more refined materials I can show off.

Doing the website itself wasn’t all too difficult. I just followed instructions and most of it was the same steps just kind of replacing what was there. I only had difficulty trying to remove the video sections and just getting my own images in there. I had fun making my own posters for the projects and trying to give off a feel to each piece that didn’t already have a poster for it.
